A True iPOD Wedding Story

Kaitlyn met our wedding team at Bridal Fantasy January 2010. Young, her and fiance made it clear they were on a budget and were considering using an iPOD to be in charge of their music at their reception. With them was Kaitlyn's mom, Wendy. Wendy was skepticle that a DJ had the music to their family satisfied at the party.

Joe and Kevin invited all three to visit them in their office where the Wedding Experts could spend a little more time trying to help Kaitlyn. They were also invited to view the City Pro Wedding DJs in action at two weddings that upcoming weekend. Their budget was just too tight to allow City Pro to service their event. With a little guidance Kaittn walked away feeling confident the iPOD would still be their best option.

About a month after their August 20 wedding date had passed, Wendy, Kaitlyn's mom called City Pro to express their embarassment at Kaitlyn's wedding. Wendy said that the events at the reception unfolded exactly as predicted by Joe and Kevin. The sound system at the hall was not adequate enough to handle music, there was not enough variety of music to please most guests and then she added some guests started arguing over what songs were going to work and in what order.

City Pro does not believe that music alone will make or break an event. The right music can enhance an already magical celebration. iPODs have their place, but they can never replace the intuition a good DJ at a wedding reception brings. It is also a matter of good planning; a good DJ will know to ask a lot of questions to make sure all the music needed for your event is covered.

EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT iPOD WEDDINGS but were afraid to ask.

Since the public was introduced to the iPOD in 2001 it has become a symbol of freedom across all races and languages. We can take these anywhere, play anything and we can even share our tastes with everyone around us. This Edmonton Wedding DJ has seen many changes to our music industry- none bigger than the introduction of MP3 players.

Thanks to the iPOD we now have MP3 players everywhere: airplanes, our cars and even on our phones. We want music and videos everywhere we go! Making an impact today is the iPOD Wedding.

As students, our ears were continuously plugged with the iconic "buds" blasting our favorite music. Today, our POD's define who we are; the music of our past and the conquers of today. Music is as much a part of our lives today as it has ever been. The music of an entire generation can be compressed to fit easily on a tiny music player the size of a crushed up juice box.

These MP3 and MP4 players are filled with our favorite music and videos. Mine will definitely have different music on it than yours. And your friends' will surely have different music than both of us.

So why is it that many couples today try to "Entertain" their guests with an MP3 player? Are Edmonton Wedding DJ's really that expensive? The first reason maybe because they might be on a limited budget and feel they can save money by providing their own music. Perhaps by providing their own music they are contributing to their event with something "personal". That makes sense. But is it prudent?

As a proud Professional Edmonton Wedding DJ for over 25-years I can testify to having been on the receiving end of many phone conversations with Brides-to-be who were at an Edmonton iPOD Wedding where a special friend had decided to tackle the music themselves only to have technical breakdowns. Another Bride recalled her brother using his iPOD for his first dance- a touching moment ruined by a relatives butter-fingers stopping the song part way and the groom having to rush over and find the song and re-start it. Another Edmonton Party Ruined.

We all want to save money and we firmly believe that no one should go into debt to get married. There are many places to save money, even on DJs. Having an iPOD Wedding shouldn't be an option.

If you have found that a DJ is completely out of the question and are still thinking of hosting an MP3 Party please consider hiring a broadcast student or A/V and Television Arts student from a local school. Many of them have enough technical experience to setup professional equipment and operate it at least for the key important moments of your celebration.

Consider having your celebration on a non-traditional day like Friday or Sunday. Saturday's are prime function days for all vendors in the wedding business. Almost all of them will give you a discount for having your celebration on a non-peak day.

If in the end you feel an MP3 is still the only option consider contacting CITY PRO ENTERTAINMENT to get the best equipment to ensure you special moment isn't ruined by inferior equipment malfunctions. Only an experienced Wedding DJ can offer the advise needed to ensure your celebration goes off without a hitch.
